I am SO excited to announce that I will finally be offering mentor sessions!  From all things weddings to family photos I want to mentor it all.  After being in the photography industry for 8+ years I know the ins and outs and I would love to teach you everything I know! 

 

I believe the best way to learn is to do. This allows us to not only learn in the classroom together but do a live photoshoot together as well.

First, we meet up to discuss how I prepare for my session, what equipment I use, posing, where I find my inspiration, how I get to know my clients before a shoot, interacting with clients during a shoot, etc.  In general, all the things you need to do to prepare BEFORE your session.

Next we work hands on together with clients (either a couple or family your choice).  This is the time for you to see how I interact with my clients during a session, how I allow my sessions to flow, and for you to ask me any questions as we are shooting.  You will be able to see how I redirect when my clients when a pose isn't working, calm little ones when things get too crazy, and adjust my camera settings along the way.

Lastly, we sit down again and discuss workflow.  During this time I discuss how I like to save my photos, culling photos, editing in Lightroom and Photoshop, marketing, gallery delivery, etc.

Because there can really be so much to learn it is important that you come prepared to get the most out of your session.  I recommend you bring a notebook & pen, your laptop that you use for editing, your camera, and a list of specific questions that you have for me.

Video chat mentor sessions look a little bit different from in-person mentor sessions.  These sessions typically run 1-1.5 hours long.  During this time we dive into any questions that you have and discuss anything that YOU want to learn and talk about.
