Extended Family Session | Utah Family Photographer | Brian Head Utah

Extended Family Session

This time of year is a popular time for family reunions and family get togethers. That being said, as a Utah extended family photographer this time of year gets really busy for me. I frequently get asked what my clients can expect from an extended family session with me, so I am going to break it down here as well as show off a gorgeous extended family session as an example. If you have any questions for me please feel free to email me.

What to expect from your extended family session

Extended family sessions vary differently from a standard family session in a lot of ways. Most of the time we are taking a lot of group photos. Although I do try to grab a few detail and candid shots as we go, we don't get near as many as we do in a single family session. Here is a list of photos I always try to get during an extended family session.

  1. Large group photo

  2. Grandma & Grandpa with all the grandkids

  3. Grandma with the girls

  4. Grandpa with the boys

  5. Grandma and Grandpa with their adult kids

  6. Grandma and Grandpa with all the adults

  7. Single family photos

    1. Group photo of kids

    2. Individual photos of each kid

    3. Photo of Mom and Dad

Usually taking all of those photos will take 1.5 to 2 hours. If we have extra time I will try and get additional detail or candid shots that the family requests for.
